Hi Emma! If you ever do a crowdsourcing feature, I’d like to pitch PickyDomains.com. We actually got some newsprint coverage, like SF Chronicle (http://allbusiness.sfgate.com/business-planning/starting-a-business/4974281-1.html ), but otherwise coverage has been modest. Here is what we do – when a person can’t come up with his or her own domain name, they place order with PickyDomains.com. Our contributors then start pitching ideas. If a person decides to register domain, he pays us $50, 40-60% of which goes to a contributor who made the winning suggestions. Otherwise client gets a full refund. So this is a risk-free crowdsourcing naming service, world’s first, in fact. We already have 40000+ contributors (anyone can join, if they can accept PayPal payments) and 1100+ clients. We already have named 1500+ domains we came up with - DiskScout.Com, Xutta.Com, NadaPay.com, GymGenius.Com, Simplytics.Com, Coderria.Com, Nogeno.Com, etc. We got thumbs up from John Dvorak (his testimonial is on our frontpage). I think this could be an interesting story for your readers.
